Pulitzer Prize 2015 winners announced

The 2015 Pulitzer Prizes were announced in New York on 20 April. The Fiction award was presented to All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr (HarperCollins)—‘an imaginative and intricate novel inspired by the horrors of World War II and written in short, elegant chapters that explore human nature and the contradictory power of technology’. The other finalists for Fiction were: Let Me Be Frank with You (Richard Ford, Bloomsbury), The Moor’s Account (Laila Lalami, Knopf US) and Lovely, Dark, Deep (Joyce Carol Oates, HarperCollins). Awards were also announced in a number of other book categories, including History, Biography, Poetry and General Nonfiction, with each winner receiving US$10,000 (A$12,954).
