Tasmanian Writers Festival announces authors, venue

The Tasmanian Writers and Readers Festival will be held at Hadley’s Orient Hotel in Hobart from 11-13 September, with Don Watson, Helen Garner and Bob Brown among the guests.

The biennial festival previously ran as part of the Ten Days of the Island Festival, now known as the Tasmanian International Arts Festival, but is being run independently for the first time this year.

This year’s festival is based around the theme ‘truth and imagination’ and will feature ‘stirring interviews, poetry performances, writing workshops, book launches, and a heated discussion or two during a night of Tasmanian whisky tasting’.
