Laville-Moore elected PANZ president

Allen & Unwin NZ director Melanie Laville-Moore has been elected president of the Publishers Association of New Zealand (PANZ) at the organisation’s recent AGM.

Laville-Moore, who was previously vice-president, replaces Auckland University Press director Sam Elworthy, who will continue to serve on the PANZ council as immediate past president. ESA Publications managing director Mark Sayes has been elected vice-president.

Former Hachette New Zealand managing director Kevin Chapman has left the council following his time as past president, as has Te Papa Press publisher Claire Murdoch.

The new council comprises: Peter Dowling (Oratia Media), Julia Marshall (Gecko Press), Tracy Strudley (Global Education Systems), Margaret Thompson (Penguin Random House) and Melanee Winder (Hachette NZ).
