Australian authors shortlisted for Dundee International Book Prize

Australian authors Melanie Napthine and Rashida Murphy have been shortlisted for the £10,000 (A$19,700) Dundee International Book Prize for an unpublished manuscript.

Napthine was shortlisted for her manuscript The Adventures of Us, and Murphy was shortlisted for The Historian’s Daughter.

The prize, awarded annually, is administered by the University of Dundee, the Dundee City Council and Cargo Publishing in Scotland. The winning author also receives a publishing contract with Cargo Publishing.

This year’s shortlist of 10 was selected from more than 500 entries by judges including broadcaster Fred MacAulay, writer Denise Mina, Creative Scotland’s Jenny Niven and literary agent Ed Wilson.
