Australian publishers nominated for Bologna Prize

Allen & Unwin, Text Publishing and Wilkins Farago have been nominated in the Oceania region for the third annual Bologna Prize for Best Children’s Publishers of the Year.

Presented by the Bologna Children’s Book Fair, which will run from 30 March to 2 April, the prize recognises ‘publishers at the forefront of innovation in their activity for the creative nature of the editorial choices they have made during the previous year’s edition of the fair’.

Nominations were also made in five other geographical regions: Asia, Africa, Central-South America, Europe and North America. Publishing houses exhibiting at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair vote for the winners, which will be announced at a ceremony on the first day of the fair.

As previously reported by Books+Publishing, Walker Books won the prize in 2014, which means it is exempt from being nominated in this year’s awards.
