Australian titles featured on USBBY outstanding international books list

Four books by Australian authors have been selected for the 2015 United States Board of Books for Young People (USBBY) list of Outstanding International Books for children and young adults.

The titles by Australian authors included in the list are:

  • Once a Shepherd (Glenda Millard, illus by Phil Lesnie, Walker Books)
  • Rules of Summer (Shaun Tan, Lothian)
  • Other Brother (Simon French, Walker Books, published in the US as My Cousin’s Keeper)
  • The Wrong Boy (Suzy Zail, Walker Books, published in the US as Playing for the Commandant).

 

The USBBY list of Outstanding International Books for children and young adults is published each February. The list is compiled by the USBBY Outstanding International Books committee from international books published in the US during the previous calendar year.
