Canberra’s Noted writers’ festival launches program

Canberra’s ‘experimental’ writers’ festival Noted has launched its first program.

The program is divided into three streams—live, digital and professional development—and features a range of emerging writers and artists.

The live stream includes events such as ‘Where the Wild Words Are’, which is set in ‘secret spots’ around Canberra and combines author readings and writing sessions; and ‘Lit Hop’, which involves ‘storytelling, games and rowdy trivia in three separate venues, with pop-up pit-stops along the way’.

Among the digital events is Buzzwords, an advice column with ‘four notable writers taking on the agony aunt role’.

The professional develop stream offers workshops on short fiction, poetry and writing in a digital age, as well as a series of ‘ask me anything’ that will ‘delve into the minds of industry experts on the topics of publishing/editing, performing, and the practicalities of writing’, presented in partnership with the ACT Writers Centre.

As previously reported by Books+Publishing, Noted is an offshoot of Canberra’s experimental arts festival You Are Here, and is being pitched as ‘Canberra’s first ever experimental festival of words’. The festival will be held from 20-22 March in various locations.
