MUP memoir subject of legal action

A forthcoming memoir from the former executive producer of TV breakfast show ‘Sunrise’ is the subject of legal action.

Publisher MUP said in a statement that the Seven Network has issued author Adam Boland with a summons and is claiming Boland ‘could be in breach of a confidentiality agreement with the network’.

Boland’s memoir Brekky Central is pitched as ‘a revealing memoir from the man who changed the face of breakfast television in Australia’.

‘Between Sunrise and The Morning Show, Adam Boland oversaw thirty hours of network television a week. Along the way, he turned a daggy finance nerd and a suburban mum into household names and even helped propel Kevin Rudd into The Lodge.’

MUP chief executive Louise Adler said in the statement that the publisher will ‘stand by this very personal book and the author’.

Brekky Central was originally due to be published in November but has since been ‘rush released’. Print copies will be available from Sydney and Melbourne bookstores from Friday and nationally from early next week.
