New funding, prize categories for Scarlet Stiletto Awards

Crime Australia’s Scarlet Stiletto Awards have received a boost in prize funding. This year the short-story awards are offering $8800 worth of prize money, an increase of $1800 from the previous year. New prizes have also been introduced, including a prize for Best Story by an Indigenous Writer, the Best Story with a Disabled Protagonist and the Best Story with a Political Edge. To be eligible for the awards, entries must feature a strong female protagonist and a crime or mystery theme, and be written by a female.
