HarperCollins signs three-book deal with bestselling self-published author

HarperCollins has signed a three-book deal with self-published Perth author Lili St. Germain.

St. Germain’s self-published ‘Seven Sons’ series—a ‘dark romance set in the outlaw world of biker clubs’—has sold nearly a quarter of a million copies worldwide since January 2014, with St. Germain placed as Smashwords’ number one selling author in February when Six Brothers was released, according to HarperCollins. The fourth book in the series, Four Score, was released this week.

HarperCollins will publish a prequel series called ‘The Cartel’ trilogy in 2015 in print and ebook formats. Cartel (February 2015), Kingpin (June 2015) and Empire (October 2015) are also set in ‘the world of the Gypsy Brothers Motorcycle Club’.

HarperCollins Australia commercial fiction publisher Anna Valdinger said that while St. Germain ‘is a highly successful and proactive author … I am confident that the team at HarperCollins can build her to even greater heights, taking her to a broader audience in Australia as well as in other English speaking and foreign language markets’.

‘From the first chapter I knew I had to publish Lili,’ said Valdinger. ‘There is an immediacy and pace to her writing that keeps you utterly hooked, the s-xual tension sizzles off the page—plus she has a wicked way with a cliffhanger.’
