Australians nominated for 2014 Hugo Awards

A number of Australians are in the running for the 2014 Hugo Awards for science-fiction.

Foz Meadows, author of YA urban fantasy novels Solace & Grief and The Key to Starveldt (both Ford St), has been nominated in the category of Best Fan Writer.  

Australians in the running for Best Fancast are: the Galactic Suburbia Podcast, presented by author Tansy Rayner Roberts, Twelfth Planet Press publisher Alisa Krasnostein and sci-fi critic Alex Pierce; The Coode Street Podcast, presented by editor Jonathan Strahan along with American editor Gary K Wolfe; and The Writer and the Critic, presented by author Kirstyn McDermott and podcaster Ian Mond. Strahan has also been nominated for Best Editor, Short Form. 

The awards will be presented on 17 August at the 72nd World Science Fiction Convention Loncon 3 in London. To see the full list of nominees, click here.
