A 'lacklustre' year for the Booker shortlist

Well, The White Tiger (Aravind Adiga, Atlantic) may have won, but apparently Amitav Ghosh's Sea of Poppies was the winner in terms of sales in the prize's home country in the lead up to the prize announcement.

With more than 9000 copies sold, Sea of Poppies sales represented more than a quarter of sales for all six shortlisted titles, in what was a lacklustre year for shortlist sales, reported the Bookseller.
