A survey of over 1300 international booktrade professionals conducted by the Frankfurt Book Fair has revealed that over half think that digitisation is the greatest challenge the book industry will face in coming years. Almost a quarter of respondents thought that the high street bookshop will have disappeared in 50 years time.
