More than 1700 Dymocks Booklovers members have voted for their favourite children’s book of all time, with 13 Australian titles making the top 51.

The ‘Treehouse’ series by Andy Griffiths and Terry Denton (Pan) is the highest placed local entry in fourth spot, behind the ‘Harry Potter’ series (J K Rowling, Bloomsbury) in first spot, The Very Hungry Caterpillar (Eric Carle, Penguin) in second and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (C S Lewis, various imprints) in third.

Eight out of the top 10 titles and nearly half of all the titles have been adapted for film or TV.
