Borders relaunches Carlton store; revamps website

Borders relaunched its Carlton store in Melbourne last week, showcasing a newly designed interior layout.

The Borders Carlton store features new children’s, stationery, travel, cooking and MBS sections designed as interconnected rooms; a fussball table in the YA section; redesigned lighting; more places to read; and many non-book items strategically placed among shelves. Dave Fenlon, group managing director of REDgroup Retail, said the store would be an ‘incubator for innovation’ among Borders stores.

‘Borders continues its innovative practice in experiential retailing through the creation of individual zones and interconnected rooms designed to enhance and align the store experience to the consumer’s lifestyle’, said Fenlon.

Website revamped
The Borders website has also been revamped, with improved search facilities, reader reviews added and many other enhancements. 'The website is constantly evolving,' REDgroup's Malcolm Neil said.
