The shortlist for the 2010 Nielsen BookData New Zealand Booksellers' Choice Award has been announced.
Booksellers throughout NZ were asked to nominate the books they have most enjoyed reading, selling and promoting during the past 12 months.
The 2010 shortlist is
- As the Earth Turns Silver (Alison Wong, Penguin NZ/Picador Aust.)
- Dick Frizzell: The Painter (Dick Frizzell, Random House)
- Encircled Lands: Te Urewera 1820-1921 (Judith Binney, Bridget Williams Books)
- Go Fish (Al Brown, Random House)
- The Wonky Donkey (Craig Smith & Katz Cowley, Scholastic)
New Zealand booksellers have now been asked to vote for their favourite book out of the five shortlisted titles (voting will close at 12 noon on Friday 20 August) and the winner will be announced at the annual Booksellers NZ Conference Dinner and Industry Awards to be held in Auckland on 29 August.
