Overland Story Wine Prize 2015 winners announced

The winners of Overland’s Story Wine Prize 2015 have been announced. Melissa Manning received the $4000 first prize for her story ‘Woodsmoke’, which will be published in the next issue of Overland. Her story will also be printed on the label of a Story Wines Shiraz. Judges Alicia Sometimes, Clare Strahan and Leah Swann said ‘Woodsmoke’, which is ‘only 485 words in length’, is ‘a stunning story—intriguing and quietly transgressive’. Zoe Meager’s ‘First Fish’ and Melanie Pryor’s ‘Salt Skin’ were named runners-up. Meager and Pryor each receive $500, and their stories will be published online on Overland and on a Story Wines wine.
