City of Sydney increases SWF sponsorship

The City of Sydney has increased its funding to the Sydney Writers’ Festival.

The city will provide $360,000 in cash and $110,000 in in-kind support each year for the next three years. This is an increase from $330,000 per annum in 2013-14 and $84,000 and $109,000 in in-kind support in 2013 and 2014, respectively.

In a statement, the city said the three-year funding was the biggest it has committed to the festival. ‘It will help reach younger audiences with an expanded children’s and young adult program, live stream technology connecting the event to regional locations, and a new online resource of recorded events,’ said the statement.
