‘The Brothers Quibble’ selected for 2015 National Simultaneous Storytime

The Brothers Quibble by Aaron Blabey (Viking) has been selected for next year’s National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS), to be held at 11am on Wednesday 27 May.

The annual event, held by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) during Library and Information Week, brings together thousands of primary school-aged children across Australia to read the same book. The event is open to all members of the community, with special events held in libraries, schools and bookshops.

This year’s National Simultaneous Storytime was held on 21 May and featured Too Many Elephants in This House by Ursula Dubosarsky and Andrew Joyner (Viking). According to ALIA, more than 450,000 children participated in the event.

‘Participation rates have increased ever since NSS started in 2000 and 2015 promises to be our biggest ever,’ said ALIA CEO Sue McKerracher. The 2015 event was announced during this year’s ALIA national conference.
