Horgan joins Boffins

Boffins Bookshop in Perth has announced that Barbara Horgan has joined the business.

Horgan, who previously owned Shearer’s Bookshop in Sydney with her husband Tony, has moved with her husband to Perth, where they have family. Horgan joined Boffins two weeks ago in the role of business development manager, fiction and children’s books.

As previously reported by Books+Publishing, Boffins announced in March that it would be moving to larger premises and expanding its range to include fiction and children’s titles.

‘Barbara’s role is to curate and promote the fiction and children’s departments at Boffins,’ said the store in a statement. ‘[She] would love to hear from publishers about any event opportunities, including in-store signings and author interviews for the Boffins blog.’

As previously reported by Books+Publishing, Shearer’s closed in May 2014 and subsequently announced it was selling its schools business to Gleebooks. Horgan told Books+Publishing the online Shearer’s business had also been sold to Gleebooks.
