Ned Kelly Awards 2014 shortlists announced

The titles shortlisted for the 2014 Ned Kelly Awards for crime writing were announced by the Australian Crime Writers Association at the Bendigo Writers Festival in regional Victoria, which ran from 8 to 10 August.

The shortlisted titles in each category are:

Fiction

  • Beams Falling (P M Newton, Viking)
  • Bitter Wash Road (Garry Disher, Text)
  • Fatal Impact (Kathryn Fox, Macmillan)
  • In The Morning I’ll Be Gone (Adrian McKinty, Serpent’s Tail)
  • One Boy Missing (Stephen Orr, Text)
  • The Dying Beach (Angela Savage, Text)

 

First fiction

  • Blood Witness (Alex Hammond, Michael Joseph)
  • Dead Cat Bounce (Peter Cotton, Scribe)
  • Every Breath (Ellie Marney, A&U)
  • Hades (Candice Fox, Bantam)

 

True crime

  • Disgraced? (Paul Dale, Five Mile Press)
  • Forever Nine (John Kidman & Denise Hofman, Five Mile Press)
