‘Herman and Rosie’ adapted as school stage play

Gus Gordon’s picture book Herman and Rosie (Viking) has been adapted as a stage play and will visit more than 120 schools across Australia. The play, which has been produced by Victoria-based touring theatre company Tony Bones Entertainment, consists of a 40-minute performance featuring puppetry, narrative, music, song and dance, comedy and pantomime. The production is aimed at children from kindergarten to year six. The Herman and Rosie play will be performed by members of Tony Bones Entertainment, which is owned and operated by teachers, and audience members will be encouraged to interact and participate in each show. Each performance will also be followed by a question time, which will address areas such as drama, dance, music and English. The cost of the Herman and Rosie stage play is $8.80 per student.
