‘The Amber Amulet’ wins Crystal Bear award at Berlin film festival

A film adaptation of Craig Silvey’s novella The Amber Amulet (A&U) has won the Crystal Bear award for the Best Short Film in the Generation Kplus section, for films aimed at children aged four and older, of this year’s Berlin International Film Festival, which ran from 7 to 17 February. Director Matthew Moore adapted The Amber Amulet for film and co-wrote the screenplay with Genevieve Hegney. Moore, who also won the Crystal Bear at the 2012 festival, said in a statement that ‘it was an honour to bring Craig Silvey’s beautiful novella to the screen’. For more information about the festival, click here.
