‘The Wrong Book’ selected for 2013 National Simultaneous Storytime

The Wrong Book by Nick Bland (Scholastic) has been selected for next year’s National Simultaneous Storytime, to be held on 22 May 2013.

The annual event, held during Library and Information Week, brings together thousands of children across Australia to read the same book. The event is open to all members of the communities, with special events held each year in libraries, schools, childcare centres and bookshops.

National Simultaneous Storytime is organised by the Australian Library and Information Association. The event aims to promote the value of reading and literacy in communities and public libraries. The event also aims to promote an Australian writer and publisher.

This is the second year running that one of Nick Bland’s books has been selected for the event. As previously reported by Bookseller+Publisher, Bland’s The Very Cranky Bear (Scholastic) was chosen for the 2012 National Simultaneous Storytime.
