Fifty Shades ‘party game’ coming to Australia before Christmas

EL James has approved a Fifty Shades of Grey ‘party game’, to be released in Australia, New Zealand, the US, Canada and the UK in December.

The game’s maker Imagination said in a statement that it would be ‘available pre-Christmas at Big W in Australia and various retail outlets in New Zealand’, as well as Amazon.

‘All players listen to the vanilla style question before secretly voting on which of the eight pre-determined friends they believe is best matched to the question,’ said Imagination of the game. ‘When everyone’s ready the answers are revealed for all to see! Once all the “Oohs” and “Ahhs” have died down any player that picked the same friend as the reader wins an Inner Goddess token.’

Imagination said that players that ‘want to add a little extra spice to their Fifty Shades of Grey Party Game can also buy the “Red Room” Expansion Pack that promises to raise the temperature’.

In related news, new analysis of those buying the Fifty Shades trilogy finds that less than 30% of buyers in the US and only 35% of buyers in the UK are ‘women with kids at home’. The analysis by Bowker Market Research found the ‘label of “mummy porn”’ for the trilogy ‘isn’t entirely accurate’, said the company in a statement. In the UK, ‘a snapshot of buying habits from January-June 2012 showed the appeal of the books has been far more widespread, with 13% bought for those over 55 and 30% being bought by men’. In the US, analysis of the same period found that 14% of purchases were for readers older than 55 and 20% of buyers were male.
