Eleven Seasons by Melbourne author Paul D Carter has won this year’s Australian / Vogel Literary Award.
Carter’s novel about a school boy’s journey through 11 seasons of football beat shortlisted manuscripts by Clare Carlin (Excursions) and Michael Hugill (Living Rooms).
The award, for an unpublished manuscript by a writer under 35 years of age, is worth $20,000 and includes publication by Allen & Unwin. The ebook of the novel went on sale on Thursday 26 April, with the print book available from Friday 27 April.
